Liudmyla Ostapenko, the Director of LLC “Business Perspectives”, Serhiy Kozmenko, manager of the project “JIC Index”, and Yevgen Khlobystov, Editor of the journal “Environmental Economics”, took part in VI International research and practice conference “Scientific Communication in the Digital Age” that took place on March 29-30, 2018 at National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy Library in Kyiv. 

In their report titled “Defining the perspectives of the journal according to the Journals’ International Compliance Index (JIC Index)”, Serhiy Kozmenko and Liudmyla Ostapenko enlightened the main idea of index’s creation, methodology of the rating’s compilation, mentioned about criteria for assessing the scientific journal, possibilities for using the index, gave an example of the journal’s assessment and defined possible ways for developing the Ukrainian scientific journals.

Representatives of academic institutions, editorial boards of the scientific journals, managers of the publishing houses and libraries of HEI from Ukraine, Poland, Hungary, Azerbaijan and the Netherlands actively discussed the issue of open access and open science; digital support of the researches; new models of technology for creating and distributing the scientific journals; national and international projects for access to scientific information; scientometric and bibliometric instruments for assessing scientific researches; intellectual property in the digital age; creation and use of scientific electronic resources. The participants of the conference actively discussed, asked questions and shared experience, searched for partners and like-minded people for further cooperation.
